1. What is BackerKit and why am I here?
BackerKit is our official Pledge Manager. Think of it as a secure portal where you can finalize your “ritual.” Here, you will provide your shipping address, choose specific reward options (like which miniature you want), and have the chance to add extra artifacts to your pledge.

2. When will I pay for shipping?
Today: You confirm your rewards and pay for any upgrades/add-ons. Summer 2027: Closer to the actual shipping date, we will summon you again via email to pay the final shipping costs based on the weight of your package and your destination.

3. Can I change my Reward Tier?
Yes! If you pledged $1 or want to move from PDF to Hardcover, look for the “Switch your pledge level” link at the top of the survey page. This allows you to upgrade and secure Kickstarter-exclusive pricing.

4.What if I move before September 2027?
No problem! You can edit your shipping address at any time by logging back into BackerKit. We will send a final “Last Call” update to lock all addresses a few weeks before we start shipping in late 2027.

5. My payment was declined. What should I do?
Payment failures usually happen due to an expired card or a bank security block (especially for international transactions). Please update your payment method in your BackerKit profile or contact your bank to authorize the charge from Stripe/BackerKit.

What is BackerKit?
BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!
The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.
How does BackerKit work?
After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.
I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?
The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.
Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.
To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.
How do I update my shipping address?
BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.
When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?
That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.
I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?
As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
1. ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS
By completing your pledge through BackerKit for the project "Book of Big Bad Evils: 5E Guidebook to Villainy" (hereinafter referred to as "the Project"), you (the "Backer" or "Customer") agree to be bound by the following Terms and Conditions. These terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Astral Archives (the "Creator").
2. THE NATURE OF CROWDFUNDING
The Backer acknowledges that the Project is a crowdfunding campaign and not a traditional retail purchase. While the Creator is committed to delivering the rewards as described, the Backer understands that the final product (including artwork, game mechanics, layout, and materials) may undergo adjustments during the development and production phases to ensure the highest possible quality.
3. FULFILLMENT AND ESTIMATED DELIVERY
Fulfillment is currently estimated to begin in September 2027. This date is an estimate based on current manufacturing and logistics schedules. The Creator reserves the right to adjust this timeline due to unforeseen circumstances, including but not limited to production delays, shipping disruptions, or global logistics issues. The Creator will provide regular updates via Kickstarter and/or BackerKit regarding the progress of the Project.
4. SHIPPING COSTS AND THE “CHARGE LATER” POLICY
4.1 Collection of Fees: Shipping fees are NOT included in the initial pledge amount collected during the Kickstarter campaign.
4.2 Final Calculation: Shipping costs will be calculated and charged separately through BackerKit closer to the actual shipping date (estimated Summer 2027). This ensures that Backers pay the most accurate and current market rates based on the final weight of the rewards and the Backer’s location.
4.3 Obligation to Pay: Failure to pay shipping fees when requested will result in the rewards being held at the warehouse. If shipping fees remain unpaid after a period of 6 months following the initial request, the pledge will be considered abandoned and no refund will be issued.
5. CUSTOMS, DUTIES, AND IMPORT TAXES
For all international orders (outside of Italy), the Backer is the importer of record. Any and all customs duties, Value Added Tax (VAT), sales taxes, or other local import fees imposed by the destination country are the sole responsibility of the Backer. The Creator is not responsible for any delays or additional costs incurred at customs.
6. REFUND AND CANCELLATION POLICY
6.1 Full Refund: A 100% refund is available within 14 days of the Kickstarter campaign's conclusion.
6.2 Partial Refund: After the initial 14-day window and until the official start of mass production, a refund of 85% of the total amount pledged is available. The remaining 15% is non-refundable as it covers non-recoverable fees collected by Kickstarter, Stripe, and administrative platforms.
6.3 No Refund: Once the mass production phase has commenced (notification will be sent via project update), no refunds or cancellations will be accepted.
7. ADDRESS ACCURACY AND SHIPPING RESPONSIBILITY
The Backer is responsible for providing a correct and complete shipping address during the BackerKit survey process.
7.1 Failed Delivery: If a package is returned to the Creator or the fulfillment center due to an incorrect address provided by the Backer, or if the Backer fails to collect the package from a local carrier office, the Backer will be responsible for the cost of re-shipping the items.
7.2 Lost Shipments: Claims for lost shipments must be made within 30 days of the shipping notification.
8. DAMAGED OR MISSING ITEMS
If a physical reward arrives damaged (e.g., crushed book corners, broken miniatures) or with missing components, the Backer must notify the Creator within 14 days of receipt, providing photographic evidence of the damage and the packaging. The Creator will provide replacements at no additional cost for valid claims, subject to stock availability.
9. DIGITAL CONTENT AND INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
All digital rewards (PDFs, STL files, Digital Maps) are for personal, non-commercial use only. By receiving these files, the Backer agrees not to distribute, sell, share, or remix the content without prior written consent from the Creator. The Intellectual Property of all characters, lore, and mechanics remains the exclusive property of Astral Archives.
10. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
The Creator’s total liability to the Backer shall not exceed the total amount paid by the Backer. The Creator is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the Project.
11. GOVERNING LAW
These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Italy and the regulations of the European Union. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Italy.
